Human Rights v. Majority Rule

Prompt:http://litmuse.net/prompt_rights

For me my moral is that people were not intended to have same sex relationships. I have always been taught that it is just wrong. Growing up in my family we were taught that in the bible man was meant to be with woman. God made Eve so that Adam would have a mate. Those two were suppose to be fruitful and multiply.

The world changes every day and so do the people in this world. If a man chooses to love another man or if a woman chooses to love another man who is to say if what they are doing is socially correct. People tend to get away from what is humanly right. More and more of our society is becoming gay for what ever reasons. Some say that they are born that way others say that it’s due to past relationships.

If there was a homosexual teacher teaching school, than I don’t think that it would be a problem. Just because a person is gay that does not mean that they will go to work and try to convince some of the students to grow up and be gay. Those people are human just like we are. They have to have jobs to survive.

I work with several women whom are gay and they do teach at the school. When on of them first came she was considered to be one of the best fifth grade teachers. That was until every one found out that she was gay. They even tried to get her fired. People felt that it was not right for a gay to be teaching their children. Many of the other parents whose children did not even go to school were part of the committee. All because one person felt that it was inappropriate for her to be teaching. That’s people following the majority rule.

I can not say if it is right or wrong to be gay. It’s what ever you choose. I can only say what it is that I way taught and what I believe. In the society today people have different perceptions on what is morally right.

Right or Worng

Prompt: Right or Wrong

I was raised to believe in God and the Holy Bible. I was taught that if it was not in the bible than it was wrong. I was taught that to be right is to be with God and to do his will. Many cultures around the world have different beliefs that they tend to follow. So who is to say if what any one believes is right or wrong. It all depends on who you are and what it is that you believe in. Some of the things that we as American see as what are right; others in a different part of the world may see that as a wrong.

In America there are differences as to what is wrong or right. Two children growing up in the same house for many years, being taught the same values and morals may eventually go in separate directions. One might grow to believe that what their parents instilled in them was wrong and the other might think that the parents were right. If a person goes to a different country that person would find that some of the things that are found to be right in America can be found to be an insult to that culture. For example in some parts of the world it is considered right for a many to have many wives. In our county that is considered to be wrong, and it is a felony to have more than one wife. Some countries worship animals as their gods, where we don’t. Who is to say which way is the right way or which way is the wrong way.

People have very heated debates all the time as to what is right and what is wrong. There are no laws that say if you do not follow me and what I believe than you are wrong or right. When we grow up and develop our own personality and ideas on life we form in our mind as well as our hearts as to what we as an individual would believe to be right or wrong. Those are thethings that we use to live our lives by.

Perception

Prompt: Perception

People perceive things in many different ways. I think that the more a person informs oneself with information will help them perceive the information. So the more a person knows the more a person understands. For instance the war that the United States is fighting right now. If we as people would have more information on the war and what was the real reason we were fighting this war. Based on the lack of information that the federal government is giving out, we as people can only guess as to what is really going on. I feel that the more knowledge that one has gives them more insight.

I don't think that I have many biases myself. But there are several things that I have opinions on. So maybe they would be considered biases. I think that guys that wear braids should not wear them. To me that says thug. I don't think that employers that guys that come in for interviews seriously for the position that is being offered if that guy is wearing braids in his hair. It is already a stereotype of young African American males. I just think that after a certain age it's time to cut the braids out of your hair.

I don't consider my self to be bias nor do I consider myself to be prejudice. I guess this distorts my perception on many young males. Even though a guy wears his hair a certain way, the young man may be a well educated man. But his outside appearance says differently.

There are a lot of such things that happen in every day life where a person is prejudged. Who really knows if they are bias or not. People can be predijuce to a lot of things in many different ways and not even realize that they are that way. Who is to say what is really truth and what is not truth. If one knows themselves than who is to say if one really knows truth. Even when people have facts in hand they can still distort data into what they want to perceive it to be based on what they have read or observed.

Many people are taught what to preceive. As a person grows older their perceptions on certain things change. As a person attain knowledge as well as truth than they tend to broden their thinking and the way that they have perceived something. As one gets older one tends to become more open minded. With an open mind there is room for growth. So the perceptions that were taught to us at an early age can easily be replaced with truth and knoledge. By me thinking that a hair syle might prevent a guy from getting a job, I can also learn that the same hair style might be the one thing that defines that young man. Sometimes what we as people perceive as something that is bad may be something that someone else perceives as a statement.
